Choosing which blogging platform to make use of is among the most significant decisions that one can make as a
blogger. The right platform can be a huge time-saver, and the incorrect platform could make blogging feel like a chore. Since the tool that you utilize to weblog with is this type of integral element of a blogging process, its worth the time to research and find a platform that provides preferred balance between a user-friendly interface and a flexible framework that enables you to make your site feel and look unique.

Choosing the best platform isn’t easy, but some contemplation and some research, you’ll be on the right path to locating an ideal blogging platform.

Choosing what your needs are when it comes to simplicity of use versus customization. If you’re a new comer to blogging and to web technology, you might like to sacrifice the capability to produce a unique background design or even to integrate a custom font in to a template to find a something that’ll be easy to work with. Likewise, if you’re a veteran web design service with html or java script experience, you will likely look for a easy-to-use platform to be frustrating.

There’s no such thing as a blogging platform that’s objectively the very best platform, because each blogger hasdifferent needs.
When you’re reading reviews of different platforms, attempt to keep your needs in your mind and do your very best to keep in mind the positioning that the reviewer is originating from. There’s nosuch thing since the perfect platform for everyone, so rather than searching for the “best” platform, search for the most useful platform for the unique needs.

Here is 6 of the recommended blogging platforms:

1. Blogger.com

Among the earliest & most popular blogging tools around. This free blogging tool is fast and simple to set-up and run.

2. LiveJournal

Yet another good weblog for novices. Such as the name suggests, LiveJournal is aimed at people who want a far more personal diary or journal styled weblog. A downside is that Livejounal is restricted when it comes to customization in contrast to other weblog tools.

3. Multiply

Multiply focuses more on the social network aspect. It is a fun method to communicate with people. It features photo blogging

4. WordPress

It is the most useful supported weblog platform with plenty of available plugins for added features, with increased constantly being developed.

On top of that it’s free. You are able to host WordPress by yourself web server or subscribe to a totally free account at WordPress.com

5. Tumblr

Tumblr has gained massive growth and exposure during the last few years. Tumblr is really a micro-blogging platform (think twitter) which enables you to you post text, photos, quotes, links, music, and videos. Tumblr has many design options and is super simple to use. I suggest this blogging system more for individuals that are looking to talk about images and interact socially.

6. Posterous

All of the services that I mentioned previously are good and reliable. For personal blogs I suggest Blogger and WordPress.
For an authority site or professional weblog, I would suggest self hosted WordPress and its own suitable for most servers

A DMOZ link is a good quality backlink, however its not the magic link that you must have to suceed online.

Keep in mind that the average surfer does not use directories to find websites. Other directories may use DMOZ to find links to fill their directories. Webmasters may use DMOZ to find other relevant sites in their niche. Getting listed in DMOZ will help you in Google search but will not give you a huge boost in traffic from the actual page itself.

Suggest your site for free and then forget it . Continue promoting your site by other methods. If one day they decide to include your site, simply consider it a bonus.
